This bag is designed to work 2 ways with a 60 pound plastic open pail. First, you can place the bag in the pail and pour the honey into it and gently pull the bag up and out, leaving you with strained honey. Secondly, you can put a honey gate in the 60 pound pail, fix the strainer bag in the upper part of the pail and pour honey through the bag and bottle the strained honey continuously.
We use these in 5-gal. plastic buckets w/ many holes drilled in bottom, sitting on top of gated buckets using lid cut out 1 less than bucket bottom diameter. Use binder clips not rubber bands to hold bag suspended. Add a slanted pail holder to top and can leave a 3rd pail of extracted honey to drain into the bag bucket. Weve got metal strainers, plastic micron strainers, and have come to prefer this strainer bag method. Wax cleanup and rendering is also easier with the bag.
We Love These.
Works as advertised. We use it with the two-bucket strainer sold elsewhere, with a bucket on top that has a grate in the bottom so can filter honey through this screen into the bottom bucket for bottling.
