Eyelets are small metal fittings placed in the holes of the end bars to prevent the frame wire from cutting into the end bars. Ours are Zinc which are paraffined for easy handling. Sold in bags of 1000.
Eyelets are as soft as wood, might as well not use them
Well, I bought these to reinforce the wood frames; the eyelets are specd as zinc, but I didnt believe that, thought they would be steel zinc coated...wrong I was. They must be zinc or aluminum, not sure how to tell. I will buy brass or steel next time. They bend easy when inserted with a tool, and dont stay in the wood like they should. The wire cuts into the eyelets as if they were soft pine.
