Candy's Corner

Hi, Everyone!

Thankfully I do not have anything exciting to tell you guys this month. With all the rain we've had and the time I've spent traveling for work, I haven't had many opportunities to check my hives. I applied my mite treatment about the third week of September and removed it seven (well maybe ten) days later. They had the hives sealed tight. I think the bees are telling us that it's going to be a cold, cold winter. That is the reason I don't plan on doing any more extensive inspections. I do not want to mess up all the hard work they've done. Also, I don't want to damage my queen, which I've been known to do this time of year. I will apply some fondant and keep an eye on their honey super.

With that being said, this is my last entry for the year. I hope that each and every one of you has a blessed Thanksgiving and a wonderful Christmas! Most of all I hope that we all come through winter with our girls buzzing with excitement for spring!

See you at the Bee Farm!
