Ever been outside in the dead heat of summer and thought you would rather risk getting stung several times than to put on your suite to go check your bees? We have been there and know how you feel. We have crafted a ventilated jacket that is light weight, provides airflow, and has the same ultimate protection as our cotton jackets. This jacket is made from a material that is very similar to that found on running shoes. It is Super light weight, manages moisture, provides plenty of ventilation, and with the protection it offers, it is worth the cost!
Bought this jacket for 2016 season to replace my sagging stretching 3 year old Breezy one. BM jacket is much lighter and more secure. The veil detaches from the jacket and both can be machine washed. I cut the Velcro off the pockets because it impeded my ability to pull out small flashlights, marking pens, etc. I bought the round veil and like it so much more than the fencing veil. I did not have any stings through the jacket. Im 5 foot 7 and weigh 130 lbs. I bought a small and fit is perfect with room to spare. Very nice product and cheaper than the breezy one! Very impressed.

After owning a couple cheaper ventilated jackets from others suppliers and having the wire loops in the veils come apart after about a year, I decided to spend a little more for what I was hoping was a higher quality jacket. I was a little skeptical of the jacket when it arrived because it is not as ventilated as my previous jackets. This one is two layers of material with the inner layer of what appears to be a fine weaved polyester. My Previous jackets where three layers with a much larger weave pattern. It hasnt been hot enough here yet see how warm/cool it will be the heat of summer. But the few times I have worn it, I think it will not be as cool as my previous jackets. On the plus side, the tighter weave seems to be more resistant to snagging than the other jackets. The real disappointment was that after having it only a month and wearing it about 5-6 times, the elastic in one of the arm cuffs broke. My main reason to switch to this jacket was for a higher quality veil that would last me longer. I am very happy with the quality/strength of the veil compared to previous jacket veils, however the jacket seems to be a step backwards. Ill give it some more time, but I am thinking Ill end up taking the veil off and having it sewn onto one of my older jackets, that although look a little worse for the wear with propolis stains are still holding up well.

Ive had this jacket for one full year now. Whether in my 40 hive bee yard or my 7 hive home backyard, Im very comfortable. Have not gotten stung at all and have not had a single bee get inside. I opted for the jacket over the full suit due to ease of wearing it. It has held up a lot better than I wouldve thought. Very impressed.

very nice, and bee tight
I hesitantly picked up the ventilated bee jacket with hood at The Mother Earth News Fair in West Bend, Wisconsin this summer, and got talked into buying it, it wasnt all that hard. Im glad I did! So nice to feel the breeze on my arms on hot, humid summer days, and not one bee got in, even from my hot hive. Highly recommended.
LOVE THIS JACKET
We orered these jackets for the 2015 spring-summer season. WE love them! They are so much lighter than the other styles of ventilated jackets. Not made of rubbery mesh which is heavy and sticky feeling. You can feel the breeze through the jacket and we have had no stings through it. Also love the light weight canvas hat and all- around veil netting. Nice to not have the heavy pith helmet, can see all around and the zipper keeps the bees out of our veils! Zipper also makes it easy to open slightly to take a sip of water, or push glasses back up!

Synches at cuffs would be a great improvement
This jacket is light weight and airy, just the thing for full time use in the hot summer months. Its a lot lighter than some of the competitors, which is meaningful if you wear it for more than a couple of hours a week. It has a draw string on the top of the hat for a secure fit, and would be greatly improved if the same design were featured in the cuffs, and in the ankles for the full suit. I have velcro wraps to use at wrists and ankles, but click synches work better, dont get clogged with lint, and I often forget to use them until my suit is busy with bees on the inside. Thank you for your constant product improvements.
