Better lip balm than store bought | |
| I started making my own lipbalm several years ago. I cant imagine how much money I have saved by making my own, but as a flutist I use a LOT of lip balm. I tweaked the recipe to make it a little more moist by increasing the amount of almond oil. I went to Walmart to the baby department and bought a large medicine dropper. One dropper fills one tube. I keep the half pint jelly jar in the boiling water to keep it from cooling too rapidly, and I use the dropper to keep the mixture stirred so all tubes are uniform consistancy. | ||

Fast, Fun, and yes, Functional! | |
| My 12 year-old son and I did our first batch together inabout 30 minutes. It was easy and fun. He already has plans for several more batches. If the kit included a small glass bottle or glass with a pour lip like a glass beaker it would be even better. We used a half pint jelly jar and that worked well, but the warmed mixture cools so fast much was lost to the sides of the jar rather than in the receiving tubes or pots. Nice family project gift and the enjoyment is remembered each time you need it! | ||

| Very easy to use. Quick and functional. Only wish it came with a pour spout for filling the tubes. One batch makes about 5-6 tubes. Yummy flavors according to my wife and smooth texture. | ||
