This feeder has an extended tray that makes the feed more available to the inside of the hive. All molded high impact plastic is easy to clean. Holds approximately 2 qts. of syrup and fits a standard 3/4" hive opening.
These larger ones are completely different construction quality to smaller ones. You have to be VERY careful to hold the lid down when placing. I learned this the hard way and lost the queen in a syrup bath. : I do like it as an inside feeder, but it is also hard placing on the inner lid and avoid squishing bees. Im still experimenting with what works best.
I uses as a top feeder
I use 2 of these inside a deep super on top of my inner lid. I get very very few drownings and no robing because they are inside my hive. This setup causes very little disturbance to my bees when I refill them. My friend was so impressed he got rid of his frame feeder and is doing the same thing.

Beetles love them
Nice feeding field, gets syrup to bees fast but SHB like the black pllastic and the whole feeder needs to be taken out to replace feed.
Large Entrance Feeder - Highly Recommend
Highly Recommend, own 10 of these feeders. I have place one on my deck, to watch the bees feed. If you use this product as intended, as an entrance feeder, you must customize an entrance reducer. I would recommend only use on a strong hive, thus prevent robbing. Easy to clean, I just rinse or put feeder into the dishwasher.

Best entrance feeder going!
I absolutely love these feeders. The bees use them as well and have no problem with drowning. It sits farther back in the entrance and have not noticed any problem with robbing. I havent noticed any leaking either. One thing to be aware of is that if you use mediums for your brood box they are too tall to fit under the lid. I use deeps so no issues. They fit tightly together and for me do not leak.

Works reasonably well.
This feeder works pretty well but it doesnt fit very well with an eight frame medium super. Its to tall for the hive roof, two plastic posts in front of the feeding tray will not allow the feeder all the way into the hive and bees can work their way out of the hive either side of the feeder. Ive found the smaller feeder works much better for me.
works for me
I have used this feeder for a number of years and it works great for me.

Great entrance feeder
Originally bought 3, fit of base and top a little loose. But with experience, they worked great, so ordered 10 more. The second batch has a better fit. Base wide enough they also serve as entrance reducers, particularly on nucs. In addition to syrup feeding, I use them as a water source in spring, and find them particularly useful when packages or swarms are building comb. Evaluation of how full they are is easy from across the apiary. They fit a wide variety of entrances, as my wooden ware has numerous sources, but do not fit the now unfortunately discontinued Dadant plastic bottom boards.

Poor fit promotes robbing
This feeder looked good, but the top and tray do not fit tightly together. Syrup oozes out of the joint and promotes robbing

impressed but disatisfied
I was impressed by the design of how it works, the ease at cleaning, and inexpensive price, but the feeder portion wont fit in my hive entrance so I cannot use it.
