When our friend Lawrence Cutts showed this to us, he remarked, "why didn't I think of this?" Rightfully so, as this is the most innovative item we have seen in years. You put the screen on your hive at any time of the day. Returning bees go up the screen and enter through the holes. The bees in the hive can't get out so you can catch the field force whenever you want and move whenever you want.
This product works wonderfully! I placed it on a hive I was moving to the mountains for the sourwood honey flow about about two hours before dusk. When I went back to the hive at 8:45 p.m., all but about 15 of the bees were inside the hive. I placed a small amount of duct tape over the holes of the moving screen to make sure no bees worked their way out during the move. This moving screen made the entire process hassle-free and sting-free as well!

Great for moving large hives with lots of bearded bees!
I needed to move 8 large, active hives in early August and gave the Florida Moving screen a shot. It worked wonderfully! Between 1 and 2 hours before sunset I smoke the hive and strap this screen over the entrance. Any bearded bees fly away with the smoke and then return to the entrance before dark. Most bees go in the holes and never figure out how to get back out. On average I saw 20-50 bees outside the screen, a massive improvement over the hundreds bearded before. I moved the hives about an hour or so after dusk and then remove the screen early the next morning. I also tried the moving and robbing screen, but it didnt address bearded bees and there were too many bearded bees to move the hive. This screen captures bees inside the screen and makes it much easier to move.
