Our top measures 16 1/4" inches wide and 22" long, so that when hives are strapped together for moving the tops will stay flat and not move. A dado is cut in the center of one end so an upper entrance can be achieved by sliding the lid forward. the same heavy thickness of aluminum covers this pine top that covers our telescoping top and the corners are also notched and folded. All of the pine boards that make up the top are tongue and grooved and are glued and nailed to the cypress end cleats.
